Jan Hyde:
What do I eat for snacks? Fruit. I love fruit. Oranges, bananas, etc. Real exciting, huh?
Another favorite -- I make an "Orange Julius"
In the blender I put:
10-20 frozen grapes
1 orange
4 oz. skim milk
Blend it up and drink it! This makes two smoothies at about 80 calories a smoothie.
Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds. This is how I get a chocolate fix. 100 calories equals about 14-16 almonds which is a pretty good handful. Plus almonds are good for us, right?
Connie Lancaster:
Blue Bunny fudge lites pudding bars (I think 45 calories each) I love them.
4 Hershey's kisses = 100 calories
4 Red Vine licorice strips = 100 calories
Sugar free Werthers carmel candies (I think 4?)
Kashi bars. I love the one with fruit and almonds. A whole bar is good for a meal (140 calories) but a part of one is a great 100 calorie snack.
Hot air popcorn is my go to snack now days. The fiber sure keeps me regular!! ;-)
I made a homemade protein bar last week that was DIVINE. A little hard to have just one serving. I had to adjust the recipe a little as I went because it came out too sweet but I will post it as soon as I make it again and write down my adjustments. I also need to enter it into a recipe calculator to determine the calories/nutrient facts.
I love Ak Mak crackers with laughing cow cheese.
Almonds and raisins (can't eat many!)
Sugar free Hershey's bars. I just saw these at Wal-mart on my last adventure. They were similar to a Caramello bar. I think I got 3 for 100 calories? Not remembering for sure.
Becky Jorgensen
I love See's sugar free chocolate bars. I break one square off and take little tiny bites and eat each bite with a peanut. I don't do it very often but I sure love it when I do.

Ghirardelli intense dard chocolate squares 60-86% cacao, 1 1/2 squares+100 calories

I'm thinking the graham cracker snack looks delicious.
My 100 calories are usually spent on hard candies, a tootsie pop (60 calories), or every once in awhile a, fun sized candy bar. I like to suck on hard candies or a tootsie pop. It keeps my mouth busy and doesn't use many calories.
I typically use my 2 fruit snacks every day that I'm allowed. Oranges are SO yummy right now.
Another snack (which is really one of my meals) is cottage cheese mixed with Ranch powder. Then I dip original Triscuits into it. Or, you can dip Pringles (out of your 100 calories) into cottage cheese. I use the cottage cheese/ranch mix in place of mayo on sandwiches and wraps. Yummy!
Sade Phillips:
Before starting LTW I was a serious sugar-holic. However, since there has not been a lot of sugar in my diet for 4 months (almost) I have almost cut this craving YAY!! When I need something sweet I usually go for a pickle. LOL..that sounds so dumb but it works for me so I guess that is what counts. I love drinks so I usually make a smoothie, or a strawberry lime-ade, the sweetness from fruit is usually enough for me.
Mercy Dickey:
I love the 4-5 meals a day because I know when I am hungry, it won't be long before I get to eat again. When I snack, I do tend to have fruit...usually an apple, peach, or pear. This week I did have a little pineapple which is a really sweet indulgence for me. Yet there are times I feel I need/want (depending on the time of month :)) sugary carbs in the form of chocolate cake or cookies. My first round, I did buy 100 calorie snacks from the store for quick grabs. I am enjoying seeing the many different ideas...I have had the peanut butter and chocolate chips this week, which helped curb the sweet cravings.
Michelle Warren:
Usually when I snack I am like Jan and eat vegetables and fruits. If I take the time to put something together I am usually having a meal. So, many of these 100 calorie snack ideas sound like new ways to add more life to my meals. My favorites to snack on are celery, carrots, oranges, apples and grapes. |
Kristina Eargle:
So I am wondering if Connie has a camera in my home.
I went to the store the other day (while in a fog) and grabbed a few items to last until grocery day. Anyway, I grabbed some salad staples, fruit (strawberries & bananas) then walked through all the isles (rembember in a fog) I grabbed a jar of nutella. I've never had it. I've seen comercials and said, "I want to try this!" but never do so I guess that fog allowed me to put it in the grocery cart.
Well to my surprise it was one of the 100 cal snacks..so I jumped on that! Chocolate-Banana Grahams. So much better than peanut butter :) I did however hand Jay the jar and told him to hide it. Might be a little dangerous
Carolee Jaynes:
I think the Lemon Parmesan Popcorn from Connie's website sounds yummy. Maybe a movie night is in order so we can have some popcorn! Usually, if I need a snack its when I'm on the go, so I'll grab a few almonds or cashews. Here's another website I found that had some good ideas.

Happy snacking!
Carol Nield:
I absolutely love almond milk! It is only 6o calories a cup and 9 carbs. That almondy flavor is yummy and it is filling for a snack.
Karen Johnson:
I choose to make the Parmesan popcorn. I used the microwave lunch bag method with a fourth the amount of olive oil. After popping I added the cheese, salt and lemon pepper. I then put it back in the micro for 10 seconds to melt the cheese. Very good.
I also made the kale chips. I could really learn to love these. My favorite snacks are crisp and salty. I was careful not to over salt.
I would recommend either of these.
Melissa Veigel:
You can have 28 and a half chocolate chips for 100 calories!!!!
Too bad it doesn't hold you over very long. But when I am having those crazy cravings for chocolate it can be worth it, but here our a couple ways to make it stretch.
Melt 14 chocolate chips (50 calories taken from 100 calories) in microwave safe dish, add 2 Tbsp. Reddi Whip (15 calories taken from 100 calories) to make a hot fudge sauce. Dip 1/2 cup sliced strawberries (25 calories taken from 100 calories unless it is part of the meal I am eating and then it is used as the carb part).
Chocolate dipped strawberries for only 90 calories!
(Okay I realize the portion isn't very big, but it is very satisfying when you really need some sweet.)
Another thing I like to do sometimes is save the fat part of my dinner, and have a spoonful of peanut butter, drizzled with a tiny bit of honey, and 10 chocolate chips (35 calories taken out of my 100). It's like a little peanut butter cup for dessert.
Now here is a snack that is completely legal but around 125 calories for the dip:
Queso Dip
Mix 2 Queso or Swiss flavor Laughing Cow cheese wedges, or one of each, (70 calories) with a couple TBSP (10 calories) of diced green chiles, 1/4 cup black beans (45 calories). Warm in microwave. Another option that makes it even better is to add a little mozzarella cheese on top (but it also adds calories). It is good both ways.
Use as a dip for veggies, or delicious with tortilla chips (obviously they would add more calories, but not very many of the snacks I have are under 100 calories, since I eat them as meals.)
